My name is Alessa and I’m 21 years old. At the moment I’m studying Electrical Engineering at the Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven. I’ve also been a part-time technician at a company called Prodrive Technologies for almost 4 years now.
I don't really have a workbench. The desk I currently use is where I follow my online courses, which also is my workbench. It's also the place where I've got my solder station and function generator stored. I have to get them out when I‘m busy with a project and I have to clean my entire desk, because I’ve online classes the day after. Because I'm still following an education, it's quite difficult to get equipment, because it's too expensive for me. I'm working part-time to get the money I need for school, books and small stuff I need for my projects.
So, one of the three main goals is to get a bigger workbench where I can leave my tools and use them when needed. The second main goal is for me is to make more projects than I do now, but I don't have the equipment to do this, so I hope to win this contest. The third main goal is to finish my education in less than 4 years from now.
There are a few challenges. One of them is to find time to do big projects, because being a student and working part-time there is not much time left to do large projects, but I'm trying my best to make time for it even when it's late. Another challenge is to start a project when you don't have a lot of knowledge of the subjects, but I try hard to learn for it.
The biggest ambition that I have, is that after I finish my education is to work as a system and PCB-designer/developer for a big company. I know I have a difficult road ahead to get to the point I want to be, but I’m going to give it my all and go for it with all the strength I have!
